Visit York Shore Battery, York Redoubt, Nova Scotia, Canada

York Shore Battery, an abandoned WWII Command Centre with gun emplacements and light stations below the main fortifications. York Reboubt was established in 1793 on a bluff overlooking the harbour entrance, and expanded in the 19th and 20th centuries, it was a key element in the defence of Halifax Harbour. Past the gun emplacements are where the searchlights were located that would light up the entrance to the harbour.
