Volunteer to Save an Endangered Animal

Nearly 1000 species of animals have disappeared from our planet due to habitat destruction, introduction of non-native species, overexploitation by humans (including hunting) and chemicals. There are more than 1000 Endangered Animals that are currently identified, spread around our world today. Intervention by volunteers is integral to preserving the remaining members of these threatened populations and insuring their ability to survive and re-populate. Evidence exists throughout the world of how effective these volunteer efforts have been and can be. California Condors, Bald Eagles, Gray Whales, Peregrine Falcons, Green Sea Turtles (and other species of Sea Turtles), Puerto Rican Parrots, Blue Whales and Steller Sea Lions are but a few of the species that have made significant recoveries from their decimated populations in large part due to the involvement of volunteers. Volunteer opportunities exist in far reaching locations across the globe and right in your own community. Volunteer speakers that reach out at public meetings may have just as great an impact as hands-on volunteers assisting with nesting and birthing or environmental clean-up of endangered species habitat. Volunteers might travel to Borneo or Zimbabwe to assist with Rhinoceros preservation; Rescue and rehabilitate burros and wild horses in the United States and Mexico; Help preserve marshlands and ecosystems in such far flung locales as Estonia, Belarus or Kenya; Assist at Chimpanzee and other Primate conservation centers in Africa or at various Zoos around the world; Work side by side with Tanzanian conservationists living among the Masai engaged in preserving local wildlife. Make the commitment today to fulfill your dream to Volunteer To Save An Endangered Animal by adding the wish to your list. You can then begin investigating the best way to fulfill that desire knowing your involvement will make a difference.
