Walk on Dachstein Suspension Bridge, Austria
The 100 meter (330 feet) Dachstein suspension bridge in Austria offers views over Austria's loftiest peaks and 400 metres down over the sheer rock face of the Dachstein massif. Those with nerves of steel can also venture down the "stairway to nothingness", a glass platform which allows visitors to "hover" above the rocks – a feeling of pure freedom. There could scarcely be a more spectacular way of savouring the superb natural backdrop of the Dachstein glacier.
The "stairway to nothingness" makes for an even more exciting experience. A total of 14 steps lead down onto a glass platform four hundred metres directly above the foot of the rock face.
The bridge opened in July 2013.
