View Original Description
Dahab is world-renowned for its windsurfing with 300 windy days a year. Reliable winds provide superb flat-water conditions inside Dahab's Lagoon Further away from shore, wavy conditions couple with strong winds to provide formidable conditions for keen windsurfers.
The Windsurf Lagoon is a 2.5km sheltered lagoon. The lagoon is separated from the open sea by a long sandy spit and has a large shallow standing area that is a ideal location for all levels especially for Beginners and Indermediates. Shallow water ensures you can walk back to shore if required. No kitesurfing allowed. Shoes recommended.
Just outside the lagoonhas amazing flat water conditions making it perfect for freestyle, speed sailing and improving your skills. There is also a nice lagoon upwind called "Baby Bay" which is also famous for all freestyle. No kitesurfing allowed.
The Napoleon Reef is further out. Beyond the reef you enter the open sea where you will find swell up to 3 meters high providing a great introduction to wave sailing and a good place for advanced windsurfers to have some fun.
Further southwest near the La Meriden hotel is the only deep water kite location in Dahab (about 3 km from the Lagoon). You can go out at any tide height with cross shore wind and a safe sandy downwind landing beach.
