Wine Taste at
Viñedo Monte Xanic, Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California
View Original Description
Viñedo Monte Xanic is a winery with spectacular view of the Valle de Guadalupe. The name "Xanic" comes from the Cora Indians, who still inhabit regions of Nayarit, on the Pacific coast of Mexico and wants say "flower that blooms after the first rain."
The winery’s premium bottle, the Gran Ricardo (a blend of cabernet sauvingon, merlot, and petit verdot) is as excellent. Xanic focuses, unlike many Valle wineries, on Bordeaux varietals, though its syrah excels as well.
It's located 30 kilometers east of Ensenada and 95 km south of Tijuana.
The winery was founded in 1987 and produces around 50,000 cases/year.
