Approximately in 1890, attracted by the mining of gold rush in "The Alamo" came, first to the region, the Ramirez family, who were from Comondu, BC Sur, arrived at the mine to participate as workers later and seeing the benefits offered by this region decided to stay and found what is now the Rancho Santo Domingo. Shortly after, also from Comondu, Mr. Miguel Meza comes who marries Mrs. Josefa Ramirez.
Because of the proximity to Rancho Los Dolores where vineyards had a small vineyard was established in Rancho Santo Domingo, having obtained plants from one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Mexico. Circa 1895 wine was produced for sale to workers on their way to "The Alamo", this wine was sent in carts while carrying food supplies for workers, this is where you start our winemaking tradition and what inspired form what is now Vinicola Santo Domingo.
Thier wines are made with 100% grapes from thier own vineyards, which are allowed a limited production per plant and in this way to ensure quality.
