Wreck Dive Lake Mead Wreck Alley, Nevada

Sunken at Wreck Alley are eight wrecks with names like The Bloody Baron, The Vickster, Blue Moon, and Sponge Bob. So many in one place makes one wonder what it is around here that causes boats to sink. Nevertheless, it’s a fun dive for beginning to advanced divers, depending on how deep you go. The mother of all shipwrecks at Wreck Alley is the Southern Cross--a 37-ft wooden sailboat. Check with local dive shops to see current depths for each wreck. Location: Boulder Basin, Southeastern end of Sentinel Island, Lake Mead. Mooring located just east of a rock slide at the GPS coordinates--about 50 feet off shore. Depth: 50-190 feet TIPS: Due to a years-long drought, the levels of Lake Mead and depths of dives fluctuate greatly. Check with local dive shops for current conditions.
