Fifteen vessels have been deliberately sunk on the landward side of Moreton Island to form a breakwall for small boats and a wreck dive and snorkel site. The Tangalooma Wrecks are a shallow dive with depths from 2-10m. Even in this shallow water, the wrecks attract an large amounts of marine life.
Tangalooma Wrecks make a good drift dive near the top of the tide. You can leisurely drift through the wrecks and enjoyed the fish life.
Can can penetrated the old “Morwong” suction dredge using a light to get through the long tunnel that slopes up from between the twin propellers. The interior is well lit and it is easy to follow the passageway and emerge over the port rail.
