Wreck Dive Witconcrete & The Oasis, Blackbird Caye, Turneffe Atoll, Belize
The 375-foot Witconcrete was a once-operational sugar transportation ship located off Belize. It's located at the Oasis dive site, 0.75 miles northeast from Blackbird Caye Resort. It lies in 60 ft and has 35 years of coral growth on the keel of the ship.
Built between 1942 and 1944, it was a floating transfer station to transport supplies around the Gulf Coast and Eastern Seaboard of the US during the World War Two. Most recently, the wreck was used for the storage of molasses by the Belize Sugar Industries Ltd. (BSI).
