Luwombo, also known as Oluwombo (singular) and as Mpombo or Empombo (plural), is a traditional Ugandan stew or sauce prepared using smoked young banana leaves from the Ndiizi banana plant. It has been a native stew of the Baganda since 1887, but it is also enjoyed by other tribes in Uganda.
