In the morning, your driver and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel (within the second ring road of Kunming) and drive you to the Western Hills. It is one of the most popular places for locals to spend their weekends, especially on the 3rd of March of the lunar calendar. That day, the locals of Kunming will climb the western hill together to enjoy happy times and pray for good fortune for the year to come. In the forest park you can breathe fresh air during the climb. Our hike begins from Longmen Village the foot of the Western Hill, where sometimes there's a small morning market we can visit. We will take a break at Huating Temple, which was dated back to the period of the Dali Kingdom and has many well-preserved Buddhist classics. Then we will move on towards Taihua Old Road, a tranquil road which leads to a village that goes back to the main road were be catch a bus back down. At the end of the day we will go back to our meeting point in Kunming city.
