2-Day Chalten Adventure tour: Laguna de los Tres, Mount Fitz Roy & Cerro Torre

Explore El Chalten on this 2-day tour. This tour is a MUST for any adventurous trekker willing to visit Chaltén.

On the arrival day, you will visit Laguna de los Tres, which is the base of Cerro Fitz Roy, and you will stay overnight in a camp at the foot of the hill. Since you don’t descend to the town you will be able to walk the footpath of the Lagunas Madre e Hija the next day. Afterwards, you will also visit Laguna Torre, which is the base of Cerro Torre. In the afternoon, you will be back in El Chaltén.

Day 1 – Chalten - Laguna de los Tres (BL - D)

At 12.00pm you will be taken to El Pilar, to do a 1hr trek to the viewpoint of Piedras Blancas Glacier. From there, you will continue until you get to Blanco River from where the uphill hike of about 2hrs to Laguna de los Tres begins. From there, you will be able to admire the beautiful scenery of this marvelous place in Patagonia. After the 2hs descend, you will have a 15min walk from Blanco River to the camping area. You will spend the night at Prestadores Poincenot campsite located in a wild area and hidden from the mass. It has tents for 2 people with sleeping bag and insulation mat, and a share latrine toilet. Dinner will be held in the dinning dome with benches. It includes appetizers that are usually hot soups, main dishes such as risotto with chicken and mushrooms or Ternerita with rosemary potatoes or vegetable panache, and desserts such as chocolate mousse and coffee.

This day you walk about 15 km.

Day 2 – Chalten - Madre e Hije & Cerro Torre (B - BL)

After breakfast, you will trek through the path of the Lagunas Madre e Hija (mother and daughter lagoons) and you will arrive at Torre lagoon near noon. From there, if the weather permits, you will be able to see the legendary Cerro Torre with its needles Egger and Stanghardt. You will arrive around 5pm at El Chaltén.

This day you walk about 20 km.
