Itinerary
Day 1: A lifetime challenge!
Stop At: Ecuador Best Tours, Quito 170179 Ecuador
We leave at 08h00 from your hotel in Quito, towards Chimborazo Mountain, which is the highest volcano in Ecuador (6.310 m.a.s.l.) and the farthest point from the centre of the Earth, it means, that it is the closest point on Earth to outer space; this is the reason why it is called “
the closest point to the Sun”, because the Earth’s diameter at the equator latitude is wider and greater than the latitude of Mount Everest (about 28° north). The last known eruption is believed to have occurred around 550 A.C. It is located in the Central Andes of Ecuador, just 150 kilometers southwest of Quito. In this magical mountain Alexander Von Humboldt made significant annotations that have contributed to the study of the geology of the planet!
