Day 1: Bucharest - Padina

1-st Hiking Day in Carpathians. Discover Bucegi Mountains!
Your are to depart in the morning from your hotel in Bucharest (where you are to meet your mounting tour guide). You travel straight to Sinaia where you start your tour by visiting one of the most representative historical and architectural edifice in Romania, Peles Castle. This was built for the first Romanian King, Carol I-st of Romania. The building was started at the end of 19th century and was planned by some of the most famous architects in Europe, being as one of the most modern castles of its time (elevator, central heating systems etc), but also impressive-elegant.
Bucegi Mountains, hiking / trekking tours in Carpathians
From Sinaia, you and your mountain tour guide, take the cable car to Cota 2000 (2000 m altitude) and from here on you start your four hours hiking trip. By late afternoon you are to reach Padina Chalet, where you stay overnight. Padina area is a place of healing beauty, green forest all around brings you the oxygen and you have a match for a what a long while in crowded cities. Bucegi Peaks are touching the sky. The entire scenery is majestic, calm and friendly, as Bucegi Mountains are beautiful and welcoming.

Meet the wonder of Romanian Carpathians: The Sphinx!
In the morning starts the second part of your hiking tour in Carpathians. You are to walk around 4 hours up to so named Bucegi Plateau. There are 2 wonders of nature: Babele (Old Women- actual translation) and Romanian Sphinx. They are rock formations that represent old women and stranger than that, the Sphinx. There are plenty of mystical stories about this place, the scientific point of view is that wind and nature shaped the two rocky formations.

You you travel down to Busteni by cable car. From here you travel straight to Bucharest, where you are to remember a hiking tour in Romania that you are to tell stories long time after.
