3-Day Sweetwaters: Ol Pejeta Conservancy Safari from Nairobi

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 24,000 acre private Sweetwaters Game Reserve and home to a variety of wild game, bird-life, and exotic flora. This game sanctuary, 270 kilometers from Nairobi is home to all the big five game, and has the highest ratio of game-to-area among any other parks in Kenya. It has a waterhole that is floodlit by night thereby providing an exotic game viewing experience.

Some activities that can be done include game walks accompanied by our Resident Naturalist, as well as horseback and camel ride game drives. Another highlight of this place is the Chimpanzee Sanctuary found within the reserve which is the only place in Kenya where this endangered and remarkably species can be found.

Day 1: Nairobi – Sweetwaters / Ol Pejeta Game Sanctuary (L/D)

We will depart from Nairobi in the morning and proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to Sweetwaters tented camp. Sweetwaters land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy with its huge ranch was once a private property of the famed Saudi Arabian multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi.

We will then visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and refuge to over 40 species of black rhinos. Sweetwaters boasts of excellent game viewing experience with the highest ratio of game to area among any other parks or reserves in Kenya. Dinner and overnight at the arranged accommodation.

Day 2: Sweetwaters / Ol Pejeta Sanctuary Game Sanctuary (B/L/D)

We will have two extensive game drives exploring the exotic Sweetwaters Sanctuary. As our camp overlooks one of the best waterhole’s in the area, this will give us a good view of the wild life such as elephants, giraffes and myriad plains game among others. Dinner and overnight at the arranged accommodation.

Day 3: Sweetwaters / Ol Pejeta – Nairobi (B)

We will set off for an early morning game drive at Ol Pejeta Sweetwaters Conservancy to take in the amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta. After breakfast, we shall head back to Nairobi.
