4 Day Bergen - Hardangerfjord cruise

A lovely 4 day cruise from Bergen to the Hardanger Fjord, with stops for all the major attractions. Enjoy everything from your own private boat.

The captain will be your assistant for service the whole trip, and make sure everything works perfect. Coordination with hotels, drivers and restaurants along the whole cruise.

Cruise can be customized, and adjusted as you like. We know the area very well, just ask and tell us what you want to see- and we have it arranged.

It is indicated in the Tripadvisor setup that lunch, dinner is included, but it is not included in the price. We can organize restaurants, hotels, taxi, etc for you, and you will pay them yourself when you are there.

We reccomend to stay in hotels along the route, and will assist with reccomendations for this. It is also possible to sleep in the boat if you prefer, 2 cabins with Queen size bed, and one cabin with bunk bed.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1 Depature Bergen AM, cruising towards Hardangerfjord, with lunch in Rosendal

Stop At: Baroniet Rosendal, Postboks 235, Rosendal 5486 Norway
Ludvig Rosenkrantz and Karen Mowatt’s little manor from the 1660s is surrounded by beautiful and historic grounds, including a Renaissance garden, a romantic landscape garden and the kitchen garden. From Rosendal Garden you get a grand view of the enveloping mountains Malmangernuten, melderskin and Laurdalstind, and of the waterfall Hattebergfossen and Hardangerfjorden. The garden has been built up over several hundred years of changing styles and fashions in gardening, Here you can experience more than 300 years of garden history.

Stop At: Hardangerfjord, Bergen 5601 Norway
Cruise from Bergen and in the Hardanger Fjord. After Rosendal, we have a short stop by the Fureberg waterfall in Maurangsfjorden. Continue to Jondal, a small pristine village, to stay overnight.

Stop At: Jondal Municipality, Jondal Municipality, Hardanger, Hordaland, Western Norway
This is where we dock the boat for the night, to get a good start for the next day- with only a drive up to the Folgefonna Glacier. This is the glacier village, with two hotels. Great small, cozy village.
Duration: 16 hours

Meals included:
• Lunch: Lunch at Baroniet in Rosendal, not included.
• Dinner: Dinner at one of the hotels in Jondal (not included in price). We reccomend Hardanger House.
Accommodation included: Night at Jondal Hotel or Hardanger House in Jondal, not included.

You can sleep in the boat, reccomended max 4 adults.

Day 2: Excursion to the Folgefonna glacier, possibility for private glacier hike. Cruise further to Norheimsund when finished.

Stop At: Folgefonna National Park, Rosendal Norway
We have several options for the glacier visit.
- Touch and see, just enjoy the view from top of the mountains, with the glacier.
- Follow a guided trip on the glacier, must be ordered. Different options.
- Private tour on the Glacier, just for you.
- Go skiing on the glacier.

Car will be arranged from the hotel or boat, and the 19 km long road up to the glacier.

Stop At: Norheimsund, Norheimsund, Kvam, Hardanger, Hordaland, Western Norway
We go to Norheimsund after the glacier tour, to dock for the night, and have dinner at the Sandven Hotel

• Dinner: Dinner at Sandven Hotel in Norheimsund (not included)

Day 3: Norheimsund, Hardanger. Various attractions here, before we continue in the Hardanger Fjord in the afternoon.

Walking excursion or car to this waterfall you can actually walk behind.

Stop At: Hardanger Maritime Museum, Sandvenvegen 56 Norheimsund, Hardanger, Kvam 5600 Norway

Time available to enjoy this small town, amongst the locals. Enjoy the fjord, view, boats, and small shops.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Hardanger Fjord, Hardanger Fjord, Hordaland, Western Norway
Cruise on the Hardanger Fjord from Norheimsund to Eidfjord. Enjoy the lovely fjord-view from the Flybridge on top.

Arrival in Eidfjord late afternoon / early evening, in time for a great dinner at one of the hotels.

Stop At: Eidfjord Municipality, Eidfjord Municipality, Hardanger, Hordaland, Western Norway
We cruise from Norheimsund to Eidfjord, and stay here overnight. Great start for the next day activities, like Vøringsfossen, Nature center, Hardangervidda

• Lunch: Lunch at Thon hotel in Norheimsund, or some of the local cafè or restaurants. (not included)
• Breakfast: Breakfast in the boat, or one of teh cafè`s in Norheimsund, or Thon Hotel Sandven.
Accommodation included: Overnight in Eidfjord, Hardanger. Several options for hotel (not included).

Can also stay in the boat.

Day 4: Eidfjord with various attractions, then cruise back out the fjord in the afternoon.

Stop At: Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger, Saebotunet 11, 5784 Norway
The Centre is an exciting experience centre for Norwegian nature, climate and environment, and an authorised visitor’s centre for Hardangervidda National Park. The new exhibitions establish Norwegian Nature Centre as a state-of-the-art experience and teaching centre for natural and cultural history with a unique offering to complement what you can find in other visitor’s centres and in the outdoors.

Stop At: Voringsfossen, Mabodalen i Hardanger, 5785 Norway
Enjoy the spectacular and most famous waterfall in Norway, with a free fall of 145m, and a total fall of 182m. A great view from the Fossli Hotel and the Vøringfoss cafeteria & souvenir. Located next to "Touristroad Hardanger" Rv7, with several possibillities for photo stops, picknick and activities in the near surroundings.The development project around Vøringsfossen is well under way, the spectacular new viewpoints should be completed in 2020.

Stop At: Fyksesund Bridge, Hardangerfjordvegen, Oystese 5610 Norway
We pass under the Fyksesund bridge, and enter the narrow pristine fjord Fyksesund. This is a side arm of the wider Hardanger Fjord, and in here it is only you and the nature, silence and waterfalls.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Sysendammen, Maurset 5785 Norway
One of Norway's largest rockfill dams. Length 1160 m., it consists of 3,6 mill. m3 stone and moraine.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Måbødalen, Eidfjord Municipality, Norway
Spectacular road to get up from the valleys to the mountain. Steep mountains surrounding the road, going in turns up the valley and through tunnels.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Eidfjord Municipality, Eidfjord Municipality, Hardanger, Hordaland, Western Norway
Greast village for overnight, and various attractions.
Duration: 16 hours

Meals included:
• Lunch: Lunch at either the Nature centre or in Eidfjord village (not included)
• Dinner: Dinner when you are back in Bergen in the early evening (not included)
• Breakfast: Breakfast in the boat, one of the Cafè`s in Eidfjord, or in the hotel.
Accommodation included: Hotel in Bergen, not included. You will be back in Bergen around 8 PM.
