Itinerary
Day 1: Cotopaxi National Park
Stop At: Cotopaxi National Park, Ecuador
Along the way, we’ll see various mountains including, El Corazon, Rumiñahui, Illinizas, Pasochoa, and Atacazo. The national park allows us the opportunity to hike around the lake at the foot of the Volcano. After, we’ll climb the volcano by vehicle until 4,500 meters. We’ll then climb until 4,800 meters where there is a refuge and from there continue up to the glaciers. Of course, all plans depend on weather and National Park restrictions. Visit the Interpretation Center. Overnight in Cotopaxi.

Day 2: Quilotoa Lagoon
Stop At: Laguna Quilotoa, Laguna de Quilotoa, 070701 Ecuador
Leave early in the morning to Quilotoa Lagoon. On the way, we’ll observe the colorful landscape of the moors and indigenous communities that inhabit the area. (Possibility to visit an indigenous market depending the day) At the lagoon, you can descend inside the crater and return on horseback or simply take a walk around the crater. Lunch in Quilotoa. Overnight in Baños

Day 3: Baños Village
Stop At: CASCADA EL PAILON, De Septiembre Rio Verde 11, Banos 180301 Ecuador
A day of exploration of the town of Baños and the valley of the waterfalls. The Pailon del Diablo is the largest and most spectacular Ecuador´s falls. There is also an opportunity to visit the hot springs after which the town has been named. Visit The House Tree to take amazing pictures. Overnight in Riobamba

Day 4: Alausí- Devil´s Nose Train
Stop At: Centro Historico de Alausi, Calle Garcia Moreno, Villalba and Bolivar, Alausi Ecuador
After breakfast, early in the morning we depart to Alausí, just less than 100km (62 miles), beautiful old town with one hundred houses. Time to take the spectacular train considered the most difficult train of the XX century. You will descend gradually from the highlands to the lowlands, at times zigzagging or hugging the cliffs. In the descending at the lowest point the incredible devil´s nose an interesting rock will appear in the horizon. The trail descends and then returns to Alausí again. Then we return to Quito.
