Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bukavu- DR Congo

Stop At: National Museum of Rwanda, RN1/Road to Nyanza The museum actually is situated in the town of Nyanza, Butare Rwanda
In the morning, you will be picked by the driver from your hotel or from the airport in Kigali and drive southwards to Cyangugu boarder on the way to Bukavu in DR Congo. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza, and the Rwanda genocide memorial site. After lunch, continue on a scenic journey to Bukavu with wonderful views of the hills in Rwanda through the tropical forest of Nyungwe National park and a clear view of Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at CoCo Lodge (Luxury)/Orchid safari Lodge (Mid Range)/Hotel Horizon (Budget).

Day 2: Lowland Gorilla tracking tour in Kahuzi Biega National Park

Stop At: Kahuzi-Biega National Park, Democratic Republic of the Congo
In the morning, you will head for the memorable adventure of tracking the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National park. Tacking lowland Gorillas is very amazing, lowland Gorillas differ from the mountain gorillas, the lowland gorillas are bigger in size, usually takes 1-4 hours tracking the lowland Gorillas. The lowland Gorillas stay in bigger families as compared to mountain gorillas; you will not regret the safari effort once you meet the amazing Gorillas! Later in the afternoon drive back to your hotel.

Day 3: Transfer to Goma City

Pass By: Goma, Goma, North Kivu Province
In the morning you will be transferred to Goma city using a speedboat. Upon reaching Goma, you will be checked in at your hotel and go for a crash Goma city tour that will include the Goma beach, Goma downtown, the docks, the city vibes, the people, the market and shopping for some Congolese hand crafts. You will end your day tour at Maghali Restaurant where you will taste local foods. Dinner and overnight at Goma Serena Hotel

Day 4: Boat cruise and Cultural visits in Masisi territory

Stop At: Lake Kivu, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
On this day you will embark in a boat cruise on the majestic Lake Kivu. You will enjoy the scenic views on your way to Minovah using a speedboat. Upon your arrival to Minovah, you will familiarize with the Hunde tribe by getting to know about their culture and their history.

Day 5: Nyiragongo hike

Stop At: Mount Nyiragongo, 21 Gm, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
After breakfast at your hotel, proceed to Kibati Ranger post at 8:15am, departure point for the Nyiragongo volcano trek. The climb up the volcano will take around four to six hours and trekkers will overnight on the summit.

Day 6: Descent volcano

Pass By: Mount Nyiragongo, 21 Gm, Goma Democratic Republic of the Congo
