7 Days Johannesburg and Cape Town Tour with a safari

See South Africa in a Week.  This trip includes 3 nights in Johannesburg, and 3 nights in Cape Town. Your visit to Johannesburg will include Soweto and the Apartheid Museum, plus a one-day safari in Pilanesberg National Park. Then on to Cape Town for 3 nights. Your visit to Cape Town will include Table Mountain, Cape Point, a visit to the wine estates of the Western Cape, and Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent 27 years as a political prisoner. You can choose where you want to start your tour so that we can customize your itinerary.

DAY 1: Arrive in Johannesburg

Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to your hotel. Welcome Dinner at Moyo African Restaurant (hosted by Bono Safaris & Tours).

DAY 2: Soweto Tour

After an early breakfast, depart on a tour of The Apartheid Museum complex in Johannesburg, South Africa dedicated to illustrating apartheid and the 20th century history of South Africa. Then we will travel to Soweto. Experience a fascinating glimpse of the bustling neighborhood life of Soweto, the most metropolitan township in the country, setting trends in politics, fashion, music, dance and language. Visit Nelson Mandela's Soweto home, before proceeding to the Hector Peterson memorial, dedicated to one of the first casualties of the Soweto uprising of 1976. We will end the day with Shopping and Dinner at Mandela Square in Sandton City Mall.

DAY 3: Pilanesberg National Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, depart on a day tour of Pilanesberg National Game Reserve - which boasts a healthy population of lions, buffalos, leopard, elephant, black and white rhino - Africa's BIG FIVE. There is a wide range of rare and common species of wildlife including the brown hyena, sable, wild dogs, cheetah, giraffe, hippos just to name but a few.

Day 4:

Cape Town

After breakfast, transfer to OR Tambo Airport for travel to Cape Town International Airport and transport to the Lagoon Beach Hotel. Enjoy an evening of entertainment and dinner V&A Water Front.

DAY 5: Cape Town and Table Mountain 

After a leisurely breakfast depart on a half-day Cape Town city and Table Mountain Tour

DAY 6: Tour of Robben Island, Shopping at V&A Waterfront

The excursion starts from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront at the Nelson Mandela Gateway. The three and a half hour tour includes a return trip across Table Bay, a visit to the Maximum Security Prison and interaction with an ex-political prisoner. Return to the V&A Waterfront for shopping and dinner.

DAY 7: Depart Cape Town

Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for connecting flight to your destination
