Then, feast your eyes with mesmerizing Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show of "The Everlasting Sorrow," an adaptation from the famous poem, Everlasting Regret. The show recreates scenes of Tang Dynasty imperial court and is honored by the Cultural Tourism Board of Shaanxi Province as a "landmark performance."

9-Course Tang Dynasty Imperial Court Banquet Dinner

The 9-course Tang Dynasty Imperial Court Banquet Dinner is created by the chefs at Huaqing Palace based on their extensive research on ancient recipes that is available exclusively to Huaqing Palace. Although this refined dinner set is served in small portions,it is ample for one person. Suggested dinner time is between 6 pm and 6:30 pm. Each table seats four guests. It will take approximately an hour to finish.

• Huaqing Soup (Julienne ginger, shallot, and bamboo shoot hot-and-sour soup)
• Red Lantern Shrimp (Braised shrimp)
• Scholar Tofu (Lightly fried tofu with pumpkin sauce)
• Wings of Phoenix (Fried chicken wings)
• Imperial Noodle Soup (Bean shaped noodles with fresh vegetables)
• Wishful Persimmon (Mix of bite-sized Shaanxi comfort food of pancakes with meat and persimmon stuffing and steamed vegetable dumpling)
• Tang Imperial Court Dessert (Bite-sized cakes made of green mung beans and red beans)

 

"The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" Show

With the efforts of Emperor Xuanzong and his forefathers, Tang Dynasty reached the peak of most prosperous eras in Chinese history. However, a military coup broke out during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong marking the turning point of the decline of Tang dynasty. "The Everlasting Sorrow" is a legendary love story of Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine, Yang Guifei, which took place at Huaqing Palace. This romantic imperial love story of a turmoil time has touched the hearts of Chinese people till today. The duration of the show is 70 minutes and consist of 10 scenes. It is performed on the stage located in the Huaqing Palace nightly from April through October only. The performance will start promptly at 8:10 pm. Therefore, please present your admission ticket to the staff member and take your seat in advance.
