The Ajanta Caves are a UNESCO world heritage site discovered by accident in 1819. See the 30 different caves that served as ancient Buddhist prayer halls. This full-day tour begins and ends at your hotel, and includes a detailed guide book of the caves.

Begin at 7:30am when your English speaking driver will come pick you up you at your hotel in Aurangabad City.

After a 2-hour drive, you will reach the Ajanta Caves. Before proceeding to the entrance site of the caves, stop to purchase a refreshment or to grab a quick meal.

Proceed to the Ajanta Caves by a shuttle bus, which is approximately a 15 minute ride. Then, purchase your entrance tickets and explore Ajanta Caves. This magnificent work of art was unknown for more than 1,000 years and was discovered by accident by a British cavalry officer by the name of John Smith during a hunting expedition. Today, the caves have been deemed by the Archaeological Survey of India as one of the "finest surviving examples of Indian art, particularly painting."

After spending about 4 hours exploring the caves, return to the parking area to meet your driver and proceed back to your hotel.
