Aperitivo with Monte Cassino History and the Gustav Wine

You might have heard the word “aperitivo” once or twice if you have Italian friends, and this is an "Italian Aperitivo with Monte Cassino History and the Gustav Wine". I will serve you a "finger food dinner of delicious local products" with a unique experience in which I like to interact in order to exchange and offer historical information about Cassino, answer any questions and illustrate focal points regarding some sites of the battle of Cassino in WWII, with a lot of interesting maps and pictures and original information not easy to find in the classic tourist itinerary, wich give very different perspectives of the battlefield behind the Monastery of Monte Cassino.  Not only, this is a good opportunity to have a special wine taste of the "Gustav Wine"; a bottle of a unique wine of which I invented the label, inspired by the vines I saw growing, during my walks on the paths around Monte Cassino.

• About me

I was born in a "family hotel" and over the years I have been able to collect many stories about the Battle of Cassino that have left to me by veterans and relatives of soldiers and many historians that stayed in my hotel. I became very knowledgable and I'm really enthusiast to share these experiences, giving life to a live storytelling that starts from the little museum of  my hotel. I will let you discover my territory by following the signs left by history through the paths that were the scenery of that long battle of 1944. 

  
• The Gustav Wine

Not only, this is a good opportunity to have a special aperitivo italiano with a wine taste of the "Gustav Wine"; this is a bottle of a unique wine of which I invented the label, inspired by the vines I saw growing during my walks on the paths of the battlefield behind Monte Cassino. Now I like to think about these wires of wine, and reflect how have replaced the barbed wire that was in the same position in 1944 to completely covered this wonderful hills. I will be also very happy to land you my personal map with some tips and special suggestions to give you more opportunity to move around also by yourself indipendently to have all possibility to visit much more is possible about Cassino battlefields trought the secrets of the Cassinese. 
• "What happens in the mountain stays in the mountain"...

...an American slang expression indicates that what happens in the mountains, it is better that stay there. Instead, through this unique experience, we will subvert to this perspective, "dragging to the valley" taking away from the oblivion of time, long hidden stories of civilians and soldiers who, by fate, shared almost nine months of war in the mountains between Montecassino and the sea.
