Stop At: Cl. 5 #1138, Barichara, Santander, Colombia
Barichara is renowned for its perfectly preserved colonial architecture, houses of Tapia, clay-tiled roofs, peaceful cobbled roads, and its artisan workshops and shops. On your tour, you’ll visit remarkable chapels, churches, graveyards, parks, and more.
Your guide will accompany you through this walking tour of the most important streets, such as Calle Real. You’ll have time to stop to enjoy a delicious coffee and discover different viewpoints, where you will appreciate the amazing structure of the paths that date back over 600 years, to the times before the arrival of the Spaniards.
After you’ve mastered the art of papermaking or at least given it a good try, you’ll check out the incredible views of the Suarez Canyon at the edge of the town. At this point, you have the choice of strolling around Barichara and taking more photos or exploring the Camino Real trail (or at least part of it) and hiking for about 2 hours to Guane. (optional, and additional tour time).
