DESCRIPTION:

CAMPING IN EL CAJAS NATIONAL PARK 

2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT

Day 1: We leave early from Cuenca to the west and enter the Cajas National Park. We begin the journey in the area of Tres Cruces. Trekking following the route of the Negra – Larga – Togllacocha and Luspa lakes. Box lunch. Interpretation of the area. Camp in Mammamag Lake, dinner

Trekking time: approximately 7 hours. Difficulty level: medium.

Day 2: Hot breakfast. Cooperating with our guide, we close camp, get ready and continue with our trekking toward the Mammamag Lake where we find a good forest.

We can also witness the presence of pre-Colombian cultures while passing through the Inca’s Trail. Box lunch on the way. We finally arrive to Llaviuco where we unpack our bags on our transportation and have a short trip watching birds. Llaviuco is considered the best part of the National Park for bird observation. This mountain forest is in great conservation state and allows us to easily find very exotic birds.
