Carpathians in Romania: Piatra Craiului National Park with native Spanish guide.

After filling our canteens with the pure water of the Botorog Fountain, we will go to the impressive Gorges of Zarnesti, with its more than 100 meters high. We will go up through the forest to the valley and from there we will continue to Cabaña Curmatura where we will make a break to eat. After the stop, we will go down the Zanoaga plain to reach the starting point following a different route.

Stop At: Piatra Craiului National Park, Romania

This is a circular route that starts and ends in the Piatra Craiului National Park and a perfect opportunity to visit the impressive Gorges of Zarnesti.

The excursion follows this route: Fantana lui Botorog - Prapastiile Zarnestilor - Cabana Curmatura (1470 m) - Poiana Zanoaga - Fantana lui Botorog.

Technical characteristics of the excursion: Approximate distance 15 kmts. Total ascent: + -700 m. Total descent: + -580 m.

Essential: good physical preparation and adequate mountain equipment (mountain boot, waterproof clothing, ...).
