CHILOE ISLAND – PUÑIHUIL TOUR
ITINERARY
This tour allows us to visit the northern part of Chiloé Island and the Gulf of Ancud. We may know the history, its forts, its customs and its legends. After sailing the Chacao channel for 30 minutes and observing the great diversity of birds and sea lions, we will continue our journey towards the town of Caulin, cove dedicated to the extraction of seafood, seaweed and oyster farming; in addition, this place is privileged by the large number of migratory birds that arrive to the place.After that, we will have the option to sailing to the islets in the Pacific Ocean on the Chiloé island's coast to see Humboldt and Magellanic penguins. We will continue along the island, going through “Mar Brava”, a long lonely beach where we will see the ocean in all its splendour. On the way back we will visit the historical museum of Quilo and then we will visit the second most populated city of Chiloé, Ancud, where we will visit the square, the market, the handicraft fair, the “Friends of the Chiloe’s Churches Foundation”, and the famous fort of San Antonio to make the return to Puerto Montt.
