Classic Experience Etna and Alcantara

Starting from the center of Catania one of Etna Experience’s expert guides will lead you to discover the fascinating volcanic phenomena, walking through ancient woods, on eccentric craters and unique lava formations. During the the trekking route you will be able to admire from various points, the summit craters standing in the distance. In the afternoon, you will have the chance to discover the beautiful Alcantara Gorges.

You will visit a volcanic cave using the equipment provided from us (helmets and torches).You will stop at a farmhouse, you will enjoy a rustic lunch made with local products (starter and first course) together with a good glass of Sicilian wine. It is possible to arrange, upon request, a suitable dish to vegetarians and coeliacs. After lunch you will visit the beautiful Alcantara gorges with its cold river between walls of lava stones.

The guide will pick you up at your hotel (if in the centre of Catania) or in a meeting point halfway. The tour is in Italian and English. Upon request also in Spanish and French.
