3-Day Co To island from Ha Long

Get off the beaten track to take a journey to the remote, rugged and unspoiled scenery of the north east’s furthest inhabited island from the mainland-Co To Island.

Itinerary

Day 1: Ha Long Bay – Van Don – Co To Island (-/L/D)

Stop At: Co To Island, Dao Co To Vietnam
You will be picked up at your hotel and head to the town of Cai Rong where we board a ferry to Co To Island. On board the ferry, you will have the opportunity to take in the breathtaking scenery of Bai Tu Long Bay during the 1.5-hour journey. When we arrive on the island, we take a short walk from the pier to the guesthouse. There we will have an easy afternoon of cycling around the Island to take pictures and to get a glimpse of the remote, untouched scenery. The land here is a perfect example of the Vietnamese landscape before wide-scale tourism made its impact. There are numerous hills and peaks on Co To, some as high as 170 meters as well as a local lighthouse. The coastline is mostly cliffs or large rocks, but there are many beautiful beaches as well. Fishing boats usually anchor just off here and you can walk to some of them during low tide. In addition the lovely shores, the Island also attracts visitors with its diverse sea eco systems. Visitors tend to be particularly awed by the green and red corals lying deep in the blue water surrounding Co To. When the tide recedes, people on board the ships are treated to a fantastic view of the 6 km long coral forest. The reef also home to the island's developing pearl industry.

Day 2: Co To Island – Hong Van Beach (B/L/D)

Stop At: Co To Island, Dao Co To Vietnam
After breakfast at the hotel, the bus will take you to Mong Rong rock area. Afterwards, visit Bac Van Military Port where you can see Co To Island from afar. We will also visit Van Chai Beach-the most beautiful beach in the North of Vietnam. Head back to the town for lunch and continue the day with a 2 km walk to the local lighthouse. Then, go sightseeing, visit Hong Van Beach, swim, or learn to scuba dive (fee not included in this tour). Dinner will be served at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Co To Island – Ha Long Bay (B/L/-)

Stop At: Co To Island, Dao Co To Vietnam
Have breakfast at hotel and enjoy free time for relaxing and/or shopping. After lunch, a car will take you to the ferry to head back to Cai Rong and drop you off at your hotel.
