You will be picked up from your hotel at the pre-appointed time and driven to your host’s residence.
The cooking session will be led by the lady of the house. Typically, the menu includes a starter such as string hoppers or fried fish followed by vegetables, chicken curry, rice and rice pancakes. The menu varies based on the season and what is available in the market.
While this is not a cooking class conducted by professionals, you will find yourself learning a lot about Malayali cuisine because of the interactive and friendly nature of the session. This tour also provides a chance to visit a local home and find out about daily life in the city.
If you do not wish to participate in the cooking and prefer to only watch and photograph (or just talk and eat!), that is fine as well. If there is something specific that you would like to learn, please let us know in advance and we will check whether it is feasible.
The cooking session takes between 60 - 90 minutes, after which you will eat the meal prepared with your hosts.
After the meal you will be driven back to your hotel.
