You will explore today the most vibrant city of Ecuador, Guayaquil. The Malecón which is located at the Guayas riverfront, the picturesque barrio of Las Peñas and the nice atmosphere makes Guayaquil the beating heart of Ecuador. Guayaquil is the main port of the country and is considered one of the most important because its location and infrastructure provides facilities for international maritime trade. We will visit the Malecon 2000 which attracts thousands of people, especially on weekends.

Stop At: Las Penas, Guayaquil Ecuador
. After, we continue to Las Peñas Neighborhood declared as a Cultural Heritage in 1982 and is situated surrounding the Cerro Santa Ana with its unique atmosphere and colorful houses. You will need to hike up 444 stairs until to get to the summit of the hill from where you will obtain an amazing panoramic view on the city. Return to the button of the hill to take cross the Guayas river on board of a modern transportation system called aerovia “cable-car” until arrive to Duran where you will take the transportation to continue to visit a Cacao farm and learn more about how the main chocolate ingredient is grown at these low areas.

After driving an hour, you will get to Cacao & Mango managed by a lovely family-owned farm. The family has not only created an abundance of cacao and mangos, but also other crops like dragon fruit, plantains, lemon grass and spices. After learning everything about growing cacao plants, you will skin and roast cacao beans and then grind them up to enjoy your self-made chocolate. A typical lunch will be served at this cozy place where the main ingredient is cacao to prepare a delicious dessert.
