You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning for the 4-hour drive to the Ramappa Temple.
Your guide for the day will meet you on your arrival. The Ramappa Temple was built in the 11th century during the reign of the Kakatiya kingdom. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is said to be the only temple in the country which is known by the name of its sculptor, whose name was Ramappa.
The temple is famous for its architectural excellence. The bricks used in building the temple are light-weight. Unlike other stones, these bricks float on water instead of sinking.
The walls of the temple showcase intricate carvings. The sculptures are unique in their sensuous postures and elongated bodies. Even pillars and ceilings have been engraved beautifully. As you enter the temple, you will see a majestic statue of the Nandi bull, the divine vehicle of Lord Shiva.
After a tour of the temple, stop for lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant.
After lunch you will be driven back to Hyderabad and dropped off at your hotel.
