Marrakesh day trip to Berber Villages & Atlas Mountains

Departure at 9 AM to Explore incredible landscapes and ancient Berber traditions in this journey through the Atlas Mountains. Our trip takes us from the bustling Marrakech through the valley of Ourika, Asni, followed by the plateau of Kik and Lake Lalla Takerkoust.

Stop At: High Atlas Mountains, 40000 Morocco

We pick you up from your hotel / Riad in Marrakech at 9 am, and then we will head towards the Ourika Valley. After a break in the village of Tafza, including a visit to the typical Berber house with views of the area, we will begin our ascent. First, we will head towards Oukaimeden, one of the few ski slopes in Morocco, and continue along the quiet roads. When we reach almost 2,000 meters high, we will stop to take some pictures of the snow-covered mountains in the background. Then we will begin the descent towards Asni. On the other side of the valley, you can admire many Berber villages in the distance, tucked between the cliffs and lush vegetation. For lunch, they can choose between eating inside a traditional house with a Berber family, or inside the valley at a local restaurant in the nearby town of Asni. A very important Berber souk is held every Saturday, where farmers bring fruit, vegetables, and livestock to sell.
