Stop At: Ourika Valley, Ourika Morocco

Temperatures are cooler in the shadow of snowcapped High Atlas peaks, and this blooming valley a little more than 50km south of Marrakesh is the city’s escape hatch from the soaring summer heat. The valley is especially mood-altering from February to April, when almond and cherry orchards bloom manically and wildflowers run riot.

The Kik Plateau is dominated by the High Atlas Mountains whose peaks are more than 4000 meters high. Magnificent panoramas on the Mount Toubkal Massif, the Kik Plateau is located above Asni, it dominates in its center the Lalla Takerkoust Dam. Amizmiz road from Marrakech, direction Lalla Takerkoust dam located about forty kilometers from Marrakech, a little before the lake, you will leave the road for the track that will take you through beautiful plains and panoramas to "Plateau Kik" .

You can visit the souk Tahanout (Tuesday and Saturday) before taking the drive through the river gorges Ghezaia on the way to Asni, famous for amethyst, for a picnic lunch while enjoying the fabulous mountain scenery.
