Stop At: Ourika Valley, Ourika Morocco

for those who are looking for an escape from the heat or bustle of Marrakech, the Ourika Valley is a lush oasis at the foot of the impressive Atlas Mountains. Go on an adventure outside the city and explore the green villages, orchards and vegetation of the region. Browse the plain of Haouz towards the abandoned village of Aghmat, founded by the Berbers before the arrival of Islam. Continue to ighref (starting point of the hike) to join Jebel Yagour, a mountain famous for its rock art. Admire the panoramic view of the small Berber villages that dot the region, as well as the whitewater running through the mountainous foothills irrigating the Ourika Valley. Stop for a refreshing mint tea in a local herb garden and sit back and enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley.
