This is full day visit to Lalibela rock hewn churches. Lalibela is located in the northern Ethiopia in the Amhara national regional state. The total duration of this tour is 11 hours. On this tour you will visit 11 rock hewn churches commonly known as the 8th Wonder of the World!

Stop At: Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela, Lalibela 1260 Ethiopia

Picking you at 08:30am from where you are in Lalibela, then drive to the church site where you find a concentration of some of Ethiopia’s most famous rock-hewn churches, mostly referred by many as “the living wonders of the world” These churches are, and they have been for at least 800 years, an active Christian shrine, the spiritual center of the country’s religious life. The monolithic churches were carved out of 2,600-sq meter natural rock terrace in the 12-century AD by king Lalibela.

In the morning you will visit 5 churches namely; Bete Medhani Alem, Bete Mariam, Bete Meskel, Bete Denagil and Bete Golgotha Michael.

After lunch break you will visit the remaining 6 churches namely; Bete Gebriel, Bete Mercorios, Bete Amanuel, Bethlehem, Bete Aba Libanos and Bete Giorgis.

After the tour you will be transferred to your designated place within Lalibela town. And end of the tour
