The Aeolian Islands were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 2000 for their morphology but also for the care and attention with which the islanders have coexisted nature and human action on the environment.
In Lipari, where the contrast between the blue of the sea and the white of the pumice mountains frame the two famous "Petra Lunga" and "Petra Menalda" stacks, we recommend a visit to the Castle of Lipari or to explore the archaeological area located in "Contrada Diana".
Finally, a walk through the narrow and picturesque streets of the historic center will give you the opportunity to go shopping and immerse yourself in the typical Aeolian lifestyle.
Then, after a short navigation, we will arrive at Vulcano. Born from the fusion of the "Vulcano della Fossa" and of "Vulcanello", for the lovers of trekking it is a must the climb of the main Crater of Vulcano from which it is possible to admire a 360 ° panorama on the remaining islands.
