Douro Wine Tour Including 3 Wineries and Lunch to Small Group

In this 9h tour from Porto we invite you to visit the magnificent Douro Valley, while touring 3 of the best wineries of the region with a small group. Taste and learn about the different styles of Port and DOC Douro wines, by sampling each one in company of an expert wine tour guide that will be explaing you all step by step.

Let yourself be amazed with the stunning river view of the restaurant by lunch time, while you keep trying local wine with traditional flavours from the region. Before coming back to Porto there will be a photo stop in Pinhão by the 19th century railway station, decorated with 24 panels of tiles from 1937, representing images of Douro Valley and it's traditions. After this wonderful experience of wine, landscape and culture you wil be conduced back to your hotel in Porto, where you can expect to arrive by 6h30 pm.

The tour begins at your hotel or private adress in Porto by 8h30 am. You are picked up by an expert tour guide, driving a confortable air conditioned mini van and conduced to the Douro Valley. On the way our tour guide introduces you to the region by giving you some local information of the history, geography, traditions and of course wines! 

Once in the Douro Valley visit a beautiful small winerie, starting with a guided tour to understand the essence of Port Wine, it's main styles and what makes it different from any other wine. Take a picture to a traditional "lagar" used to manually stomp the grapes and learn how the wine ages in small oak barrels and the large oak vats. Next, join a wine tasting session and try some of the best local wines in company of an expert guide, who tells you all you need to know about each wine.

After that you are driven to an amazing local restaurant by the riverside, where a typical lunch is served. Taste traditional Portuguese flavours with DOC Douro wine, while meeting other people from your small group tour.

Continuing the itinerary, head to the second small winerie, having some of the most amazing views of the region. The visit follows the same pattern as the first place but, of course, the wine changes. Start touring the place with a local guide, followed by a special wine tasting of 4 different wines.

At last but not least pay a visit to a third winerie in the small village of Pinhão and have a super special taste of a Vintage Port, with a scenic view over the Douro Valley, by the riverside. 

You are back to your place in Porto by 6h30 pm, certain of having visited a magical site!
