Everest Trek with Gokyo Ri

Everest trek with Gokyo Ri is one of the most attractive and thrill trekking trails in Khumbu region including many magnificent views of Everest region. This Trek follows the Gokyo Lake, Gokyo Ri, and Machermo Base Camp. This trek provides various panoramic views along with the breath-stopping scenes of the snow-covered mountains and glaciers.

Everest trek with Gokyo Ri gives an ample opportunity to explore the Everest region thoroughly. The trekking trail provides one of the most memorable observations of the landscapes through Khumbu region, Gokyo valley and Dudh Koshi River. The climb of Gokyo Peak (5480m.) is another experience along the trail. After fixing the trek in Gokyo you can enjoy the wonderful scenery of Gokyo valley. A short climb to Gokyo Ri provides the beautiful panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Cho Oyo, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse (7879m.), Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cholaste, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Gyachung Kang and so on.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival

Pass By: Thamel, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
Our Travel representative will pick you up at the Tribhuvan International Airport ( Kathmandu) and transfer to the hotel by private car. The rest of the day is for leisure.

Day 2: Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m) to Phakding (2,610 m)

Pass By: Phakding 56000, Nepal
After you have your breakfast, you will drive to the airport to embark for Lukla. The breathtaking views of mountains and rivers will make the approximately 40 minutes’ flight remarkable before landing on Tenzing-Hillary airport, named after the pioneer invaders of the Everest. After necessary arrangements/rearrangements, you will start heading towards Phakding which is reached at about 4 hours of moderate walking

Day 3: Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Pass By: Main Street, Namche Bazaar 56002 Nepal
Following a trail through pine forest and crossing few suspension bridges, you will arrive at a small settlement called Benkar which is the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park. After necessary formalities, you will continue towards Namche Bazaar, the major market of the Everest region, which teems with shops and hotels of diverse standards.

Day 4: Day 04: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

Acclimatization is an important part of trekking, especially those involving larger height gains: it minimizes the chance of complications due to abrupt altitude changes. For this reason, you will stay another night at Namche Bazaar before continuing to Tengboche. Nonetheless, you will find your rest day at Namche worthwhile which accommodates — apart from hotels– banks, government offices, cyber cafes, restaurants, bakeries, massage parlours, trekking gear shops, etc. Or, you may attempt short hikes to Khumbu or Thame to improve your stamina.

Day 5: Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to PhungiThanga (3,246m), walk approximately 4-5 hours.

Pass By: Everest View Point, Kyangjuma, Sagarmatha National Park Nepal
Moving on, we make our way down a long and mostly shaded hill to PhungiThanga, a small settlement on the river. PhungiThanga is the lowest section of the trail North of Namche Bazaar.

Day 6: Day 06: PhungiThanga to Dhole (4,110m), walk approximately 4-5 hours.

The trek continues to Dhole by the same route to Base camp. You will get a chance to see panoramic views of various mountains, rhododendron and birch forest with hanging mosses and lichens.

Day 7: Day 07: Dhole to Machermo (4465 m), walk approximately 5-6 hours.

After a walk in wonderful landscapes, you arrive above Machermo which is a small settlement in a wide side valley. Machermo is also known for the home of a rescue post. You will see the native bird life and marvel at the mountain flowers, enjoying views of Cho Oyu to the North.

Day 8: Day 08: Machermo( Gokyo Lakes)(4,800 m)

Machermo peak (6237 m) climbing is challenging trekking peaks located in Everest region, on the way to Gokyo lake which is open for climbing under Nepal Mountaineering Association(NMA). Gokyo lakes are populated with its amazing high altitude ducks. Before Gokyo, there is a chautara covered with prayer flags and Gokyo village can be seen from here.

Day 9: Day 09: Sunrise excursion to Gokyo-Ri (5333 m) to Machermo Base Camp, 7 Hours

ou will start your day early by climbing up to the top of Gokyo Ri which have stunning views of the upper Gokyo Valley, The massive Ngozumpa glacier and panorama view of the Khumbu Himalayas like the view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and many more. After wonderful views in Gokyo, our trek finally descend down to Machermo Base camp.

Day 10: Day 10: Machermo Base Camp to Namche Bazaar

On this day, we trek to Namche Bazaar, you can enjoy the glimpse of the Everest region and its surrounding. you can also get a chance to explore the Sherpa culture throughout the trail.

Day 11: Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Pass By: Everest View Point, Kyangjuma, Sagarmatha National Park Nepal
This day trekking trail follows a sandy path with a strenuous walk. The trail is full of picturesque view of the landscape and some mountain scenarios. You can explore Lukla Bazaar and shop local items there. You can celebrate your successful trekking there in Lukla with special brands of drinks. Evening time offers you to visit the surrounding area before we stay overnight in Lukla.

Day 12: Day 12: Flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu

On this day, you fly to Kathmandu in the morning. This short and scenic flight possibly makes you feel nostalgic because of the glimpses of snowy mountains through a private window of a plane. You will be transferred to the hotel where you either have leisure time or you may catch the last moments exploring the sights of Kathmandu. Shopping in the market is another best option. In the evening, we have a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepalese restaurant with a cultural performance.

Day 13: Day13: Departure Day

as it is the last day, we have to bid goodbye to the guest as a visit to Nepal comes to the end at this time. If you have time enough, you can have sightseeing and purchasing the token of love from Nepal. Before 3 hours of scheduled flight, our representatives will take you to the TIA. We hope you will be planning for another adventure-trip while you are on returning back to your homeland. You can extend your Nepal stay if you have time and desire too.
