Experience the Stoke Surf Lesson

Learn to surf at one of Cape Town's pristine beaches with our experienced, qualified coaches, during one of our 2-hour group surf lesson, which includes the use of a warm wetsuit, suitable surfboard, leash, wax and guarantees 100% 'stoke'. No previous experience is required as we guide you through the surfing basics using our unique 'Stoked' teaching techniques. 

If you have previous surf experience and are wanting to brush up on your skills, please let us know upon booking so we can advise your coach and group you accordingly if possible.

We check the surf forecast on several reliable sources and combine this information with our local knowledge to decide where we will coach each day. We consider factors such as wind, tides, swell direction and ocean temperatures before making our decision to provide the safest and most enjoyable experience our surfing students.

We will pick you up from your accommodation and transport you to the beach with the most ideal wind and swell conditions on the day of your lesson. Upon arrival at the beach, we change into our wetsuits and hit the surf for a 2- hour lesson.

Our qualified coaches will cover everything from surf safety and ocean awareness, to paddling technique and how to stand up and surf the waves. If you have surfed before, they will help you with added skills in the water. After the lesson, we will rinse off and head back to the city.

We offer pick ups from locations in Cape Town city and surrounds (see pick up area list below). If you are located outside of the pick up area, we will ask you to meet us at a pre-arranged location in the city. If you are staying at a private residence/Airbnb etc, we will ask you to meet us at one of our regular pick up points closest to your accommodation. We will transport you to the beach in our comfortable van or our original surf school VW golf. 

The following is the pick up schedule for our morning and afternoon lesson slots (please note the suburb your lodging is located in to determine your approximate pick up time):

Camps Bay:          8:00-8:15am  OR  1:00-1:15pm

City & Sea Point : 8:15-8:30am  OR  1:15-1:30pm

Green Point:          8:30-8:45am  OR  1:30-1:45pm

Woodstock:           8:45-9:00am  OR  1:45-2:00pm

Observatory:         8:45-9:00am  OR  1:45-2:00pm

Below is the drop off schedule:

For morning lessons, drop offs take place 12:45-1:30pm.

For afternoon lessons, drop offs take place 5:45-6:30pm.

Please note: The above drop off times are dependent on where your lodging is located and traffic through the city. If you have time constraints, kindly let us know at the time of enquiry/booking to ensure we can accommodate this.
