Alexandria is one of the biggest cities bordering the Mediterranean. It was founded by Alexander the Great in 334 B.C. (It is generally believed that his tomb is still there.) It was divided between the local Egyptians, the Greek rulers and the Jews, and then it became the capital of Egypt along the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine rule for more than 10 centuries until the Arab conquest in the 7th century A.D.
Alexandria was the second most powerful city of the ancient world after Rome. The city has a lot to offer for its visitors and during this tour you will start early at 7am with your qualified Egyptologist tour guide, in your private, modern a/c van (Wi-Fi on board) and proceed to Alexandria (about a 3-hour drive) where you will visit the following:
