Visit the Gedee Car Museum in Coimbatore. The museum has a display of over 70 vintage automobiles that showcase the evolutionary trends of the automobile industry. The museum was founded by G.D. Naidu, an industrialist and philanthropist, who is also referred to as the Edison of India. Great care has been taken in displaying the automobiles so that the visitor gets an idea of the technological innovations that have taken place over the years as well as the people behind them.

Highlights
• The first automobile of the world, the 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen
• The first mass-produced car of the world, the 1908 Ford T
• Rolls Royce 20 owned by the Maharaja of Mysore

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to the Gedee Car Museum that is situated within the city of Coimbatore.

Besides the personal collection of the founder of the museum, G.D. Naidu, the museum also contains rare cars that have been gifted by private individuals in the country.

The museum houses every significant development in the car industry, from a replica of the first automobile in the world (the 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen) to recent racing cars. There are over 70 models on display, of which around 30 are from G D Charitable Trust’s collection. The cars are arranged chronologically, with documentation explaining the evolution of the automobile industry as a whole.

Some of the historically significant cars in the museum include the Rolls Royce 20 owned by the Maharaja of Mysore, the McDowell 1000 designed by a legendary Indian racer from Coimbatore, S Karivardhan, and a 1908 Ford Model T, the first mass produced car in the world.

The main objective of the museum is to highlight the technologically significant milestones in the evolution of the automobile industry, as well as the people behind each of these.

At the end of the tour, take lunch (beverage excluded) at a local restaurant. After lunch you will be driven back to your hotel.
