This flight also allows you to admire East Tennessee’s scenic Douglas Lake and the 700 foot long hydroelectric Douglas dam while heading towards lush green islands scattered throughout the bright blue lake. Douglas Lake covers 30,000 acres and 3 counties. It has over 500 miles of shoreline. In the summer you get astonishing sun-glistening views of the water and the people enjoying their time on the lake. However, in the winter, the water level is lowered so you get majestic views of exposed islands and coves. As well as the beautiful lake, you will see the Great Smoky Mountains towards the southwest. On this flight you climb to a slightly higher altitude than on the Lake View flight allowing for better visibility of the National Park.
Includes Douglas Lake View points of interest: Bass Pro Tournaments, Lighthouse Pointe Marina, Cowboy’s Seafood Restaurant and Wildlife Refuges.
