Fantastic Láscar Volcano Ascent

Itinerary

 Ascent Lascar Volcano, We will leave from San Pedro de Atacama in a vehicle towards the south, passing through the towns of Toconao and Talabre. We will have breakfast on the way, after 2 hours to reach the base of the volcano. Once there, at 4,600 m high, we will begin our ascent that will take between 3 and 4 hours (depending on the physical conditions of the group), and that will take us to the crater of the volcano. Although the distance seems short, it is pronounced, and the oxygen shortage will be noted. In the crater, 300 m deep, we can see the smoking fumaroles and feel the intense smell of sulfur, along with a spectacular view of the Andes Mountains. If the conditions of the group allow it, we will walk 40 more minutes until we reach the top of the volcano, located at 5,630 m altitude. Our descent will take 1 hour and a half, and then take the vehicle that will take us back to San Pedro de Atacama.
