In a comfortable 4WD jeep depart from Ponta Delgada at 9:00 a.m. with an informative, friendly and professional nature guide and follow the North Coast route of São Miguel Island, towards Achada das Furnas.
Head to Salto do Cavalo viewpoint located at 805m altitude and offering a breathtaking view that extends over the Furnas Valley, as well as the North and South Coast of São Miguel Island. Continue to the parish of Salga, the first of the municipality of Nordeste and enjoy the view of Salto da Farinha. Head to Ribeira dos Caldeirões Park located between the parishes of Achadinha and Achada, to enjoy the imposing waterfall and a set of water mills. Continue through the picturesque parishes of Santana, Santo António Nordestino, São Pedro Nordestino and Lomba da Fazenda towards the center of the Village of Nordeste. Take a break and enjoy the local gastronomy (own expense) and the good hospitality characteristic of the Azorean people.
Take the tour again and head to Pedreira towards Tronqueira Road, a dirt route that crosses Serra da Tronqueira from Nordeste to the municipality of Povoação. Stop at Serra da Tronqueira viewpoint and embrace the imposing view over the mountain range and Pico da Vara, the highest point of the Island with 1103m and dazzle with the Laurissilva forest, composed of Azorean Cedar, Azorean Blueberry, Azorean Sweet Bay and Azorean Holly, endemic plants, natural habitat of the Priolo. Proceed to Pedreira jumping from belvedere in belvedere, Ponta da Madrugada, Ponta do Sossego and Vista dos Barcos, which of them the most beautiful, full of flowerbeds that make Nordeste the most flowery municipality of the Azores.
Back to Ponta Delgada along the North Coast route of the Island finish the tour taking in the backdrop of the beautiful sunset before being dropped off at your hotel around 5:00 p.m.The course on/off road may vary according to climate conditions.
