Full-Day Cairo Highlights Tour from Hurghada by Road

Discover the highlights of Cairo on this one-day tour by road from Hurghada. Visit the iconic Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx; enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch; explore the Egyptian Museum; and shop at the Khan El Khalili bazaar.

Grab forty winks on the 5-hour journey to Cairo after your Egyptologist guide collects you from your Hurghada hotel at 2:30am – be sure to request a breakfast box from reception. You'll arrive in Cairo around 7:30am and head straight to Giza, where you'll explore some of the wonders of the world, including the pyramids of Khufu, Khaufre, and Menkaure, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple, built around the same time as the Sphinx.

After lunch at a local restaurant (vegetarian options are available), it's on to the wonderful Egyptian Museum, home to over 5,000 years of ancient Egyptian art and artefacts, the most precious collection of ancient Egyptian culture in the world. Among the 250,000 exhibits, including statues of the legendary Nefertiti, explore the room dedicated to Tutankhamen, including his death mask, treasure, gold and jewellery, which Howard Carter discovered in the 1920s. Finally, it's time to discover a little of Cairo proper, with a trip to the famous Khan el-Khalili bazaar, with its brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, and antiques. You'll embark for Hurghada at around 5:30pm, and be back at your hotel around 10:30pm: if necessary, please arrange a late dinner with reception.
