5.0 from partner siteThe trip begins by picking up guests at Panama City at 7:00am. The group will arrive to the launch-point an hour and half later to start rafting around 9:30am. The river is classified as Class III-IV (moderate to intense, but predictable). There are a couple of passes to hike due to safety considerations. Among them, a beautiful Class V+ fall.
On your way down to the river, you will get the chance to go through EcoFarms Panama, an organization committed to the conservation and restoration of tropical rainforest in the Mamoni River region. Travel through the last remaining strips of primary and secondary forests in the area, used by scientists to conduct research about tropical biodiversity. During low water conditions the trip may take-out from EcoFarms.
The rafts will be picked depending on water level. Smaller 11' rafts and duckies (inflatable kayaks) from December though February, duckies from March thru April, and smaller rafts and duckies from May thru June.
The group should arrive at the take-out zone at approximately 3:30pm and be back at the original pickup point about 5:30pm.
