To make it even more intresting Byzantine monks have built monasteries right on the top of those rocks some dating back to the 12th century and are now part of UNESCO's World Heritage program

We have a chance to see the battlefield of Thermopyles were Leonidas and his 300 soldiers fought bravely against the Persians.

Stop At: Meteora, Kastraki, Kalambaka 422 00 Greece

A complex of monasteries (six of them operating still today) built on top of this amazing rock formation and looks like they are hanging from the sky (that's what Meteora translates to).We will have the chance to visit 2-3 of them depending on timing and explore their little secrets.After having lunch somewhere nearby we set off to Athens.
