Douro Valley Tour: Wine Tasting, Lunch & River Cruise

The tour begins with a visit to a Port wine producer. There will be a personalized guided tour on the vineyards where the process of making the Port wine will be explained. The wine tasting will be accompanied by a careful selection of Portuguese cheeses.

We will embark on a 1 hour boat trip, typical boats used in the past to transport the wine barrels downstream. The trip will serve to relax in the calm waters of the Douro River while we can contemplate the landscape and nature of the Douro Valley.

Lunch will be served in a typical Portuguese restaurant and will be given the choice of meat, fish or vegetarian. Everything are included in the price.

The second winery is a small table wine producer. The visit will be private to the group where the guide will give more importance in explaining the difference between premium wines and the different ways of winemaking. The visit ends with an olive oil tasting.

We will start with the magnificent view of the Douro River that will follow us during our trip.

Stop At: Quinta da Roeda, Douro Valley, Pinhao 5085-036 Portugal

We will travel to the village of Pinhão where we visit one of the most prestigious wine cellars of the Port Wine of the region. There we will learn the whole winemaking process of Ports and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. The wine will be served with a careful selection of Portuguese cheeses.

Stop At: Pinhao, Pinhao, Vila Real District, Northern Portugal

We will visit the village of Pinhão and its authenticity, we will pass the most beautiful road in the world to EN 222 and stop to take some pictures. Breathtaking 1 hour boat ride on a typical wooden boat on the Douro River to admire the scenery.

Known as one of the most beautiful train station in the country. We will stop for a moment to contemplate the magnificent tiles that decorate the station.

Lunch in the village of Pinhão, a typical Portuguese food restaurant.

Before the return we will have time to visit the top of the valley and enchant with the best viewpoint of the region to take that special photograph of travel. At the top we will visit a local family own wine producer where we will taste table wine and olive oil.
