Enjoy a full day out to the Kartli region for a day of culture, wine and food. In the morning we will visit the medieval monastery of Jvari, one of the most beautiful churches in Georgia where you’ll enjoy stunning views and clean mountain air. This will be followed by a visit to a family owned winery in the Ateni valley. We will enjoy a visit to the traditional marani followed by a tasting of the wine and traditional honey products as the wine producer is also a beekeeper. After this visit, we will head over to one of the friendliest and celebrated traditional wineries in Georgia for a visit and and lunch of local products, most of which are either grown or produced by the family. You’ll have ample opportunity to walk among the vines, talk with the wine maker and take photos. In this tour, guests will visit two traditional wineries where the wine is made in the qvevri; a wine vessel made from terracotta that is buried in the earth. It is a lovely day out for guests who enjoy a slower pace and want to experience life in the Georgian countryside.
