Day 1: Kumasi
Stop At: Manhyia Palace Museum, Ahanti New Town Road off Antoa Road, Kumasi Ghana
The Manhyia Palace is the seat of the Asantehene of Asanteman, as well as his official residence. It is located at Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Kingdom and Ashanti Region. The first palace is now a museum.

Stop At: Okomfo Anokye Sword Site, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi Ghana
Komfo Anokye Sword Site is situated on the grounds of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital which is seminal in Asante history. A 333 year old sword wedged in the rockface is one of the the centre artefacts and legends of the rich history of the Asante nation. The history of the Asante people is eloquently told by the young curator.

Day 2: Kumasi
Stop At: Prempeh II Museum, Bantama High St, Kumasi Ghana
This museum contains a fascinating collection of Ashanti artifacts, including such impressive pieces as the king’s battle dress and heavy gold jewellery. The Asantehene receives homage here on important festival days. Be sure to ask the guide to make the leopard skin drum roar!

The National Cultural Centre is set within peaceful, shaded grounds and includes craft workshops, where you can see brassworking, woodcarving, pottery making, batik cloth dyeing and kente cloth weaving, as well as a gallery and crafts shop.
